The majority of the landmark developments in electric heating have been conceived by the Glen Dimplex Group, which have opened up new markets. The Optiflame® real flame effect - which was recognised as the world's most realistic electric flame - was developed in-house in 1988 and led the revolution in the electric fires market, setting new trends and premium price levels. The launch of our new revolutionary Opti-myst flame effect in 2010 sets a new standard in realistic flame effects. In installed heating, we were the first to introduce a storage heater less than 6 inches deep, way back in 1983. And since then we have continued to develop a number of initiatives, culminating in the launch of the DuoHeat radiator which sets new levels of economy, performance, controllability and design.
