The Host With The Most!

The Host With The Most!

Keep it simple

There’s a time & a place for experimenting with new dishes and exotic flavours, but this isn’t one of them. Stick to tried & tested recipes and cook something you’re confident with, after all you want to spend the evening with your guests and not your oven gloves.

Timing is key

Plan your day in advance and be sure to consider your oven space, cooking multiple dishes at various temperatures for hours isn’t going to work!

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail

Don’t leave everything to the last minute, prepare as much as you can in advance and leave finishing touches or re-heating until your guests arrive.

It’s all about balance

Think about the dishes and how they complement one another when planning your menu, maybe pick a theme such as Spanish Tapas or an Italian feast.

Allergies or dietary requirements?

Avoid the embarrassment of having nothing for some guests by checking in advance if they have any special dietary requirements.

Think seasonal

Make the most of the fresh, seasonal produce available to you. Simple dishes that showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients will not only deliver on flavour but also adds that extra touch of Christmas spirit.

Homemade - v- shop-bought

Why not try your hand at making homemade nibbles. Little extras like spiced nuts, cheese crisps or chocolate truffles can be made in advance and will add a nice, personal touch to your dinner party.

A touch of finesse

You will be amazed how the most simple of ingredients can be transformed by adding a few cleverly placed garnishes or by using a decorative serving dish.

Probably the most important one on the list – remember to relax and enjoy the night, after all it’s Christmas!
